The Pennyrile Area Development District honored Caldwell County Judge-Executive Kota Young and other board members for their dedicated service during its 55th Annual Dinner Meeting on Monday night.

Young, along with Judge-Executive Jack Whitfield of Hopkins County, Mayor Kevin Cotton of Madisonville, Mayor Gary Dameron of Salem, Mayor Bill Hesser of Smithland, and Mayor Tony Armour of Central City, were all honored with PeADD Board Service Awards in recognition of their five years of dedicated service on the Board of Directors.

Furthermore, Robert Bart Frazer, a citizen member of Crittenden County, was honored with a PeADD Board Service Award in recognition of his 25 years of dedicated service on the board.

As previously reported by WPKY’s News Edge, Young honored Gale Cherry and her late husband, former state representative Mike Cherry, with the John C. Mahre Regionalism Award, recognizing the Cherry’s dedication to regionalism and community development throughout the Pennyrile region. The couple had previously served on the PeADD Board and demonstrated a strong commitment to public service in Princeton, Caldwell County, and beyond.

Additionally, the PeADD Board Nominating Committee unanimously approved three new board appointments, including Dan Wood from Crittenden County. They also approved four reappointments to the board, including Amanda Davenport and Fredonia Mayor Jim Seibert, who represent Caldwell County.

The event, themed “A Journey Through the Pennyrile,” attracted a crowd of over 450 attendees, including state and local officials, legislators, business and civic leaders, and other community members from across the Pennyrile region. The annual dinner meeting was held at The Bruce Convention Center in Hopkinsville.
