Alyson VanHooser, member of Vision West Kentucky, was in studio Thursday morning to talk to WPKY about Vision West Kentucky and the upcoming kickball tournament fundraiser.

The 2nd Annual Kickball Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 23rd, at Ratliff Park starting at 10AM. Alyson stated that there will also be a corn-hole tournament, face-painting, and concessions, including snow cones, and invited families to come out and attend, even if you don’t have a team competing. For those who wish to compete, teams must consist of at least 9 and no more than 12 players during any given game. This year they wish to have two leagues, a U-12 league for youth ages 8-12, and a league made up of members who are a mixture of ages, both over and under 18 years old. However, Alyson noted that they currently only have one U-12 team signed up. If another U-12 team registers, they will compete against each other, if not, they will change the rules to accommodate the U-12 team playing the adults. Alyson told listeners that they currently have five teams signed up, but would love to have more participate. If you are interested in participating and wish to register your team you can find the registration here, or you can register day of on Saturday morning. Fee is $200 per team, which can be paid on Saturday, and all proceeds will go to benefit the ball fields at the City/County Park.

Alyson then told listeners that Vision West Kentucky is a group of young professionals who have completed a year of leadership training, live or work in Caldwell County, and want to make a difference here in the county as well as in Western Kentucky.
