Both Candidates for Caldwell County Judge Executive agree that the county needs to keep it’s jail
Both candidates on the ballot in November for Caldwell County Judge Executive agree that the county needs to keep it’s jail despite the Governor’s push to close many of the state’s smaller jails.
Republican candidate Larry Curling understands that Caldwell County is one of the last counties housing a smaller jail but knows how important it is for the county to keep it.
In order to keep the jail, Curling stated that he would, if elected, continue to financially support it and help it continue to save money in any way it can.
Democratic candidate Phillip Sisk believes that the jail must stay, not only to save the county money, but also to keep impacting the community economically.
Sisk was adamant that closing the jail would be a detriment to the county because of the high costs of transferring inmates.
More audio footage from the political forum held Monday, September 24th, will be aired over the next few days during the morning show in the 8 o’clock hour and will include full answers from candidates running for Caldwell County Magistrate District 2 and District 4.
