Bro. Harrell Riley, Director of HR Ministries, and Torey Hammett were in studio Thursday morning to talk to WPKY about this year’s Summer Slam.

Torey told listeners that Summer Slam 2018 will be on Saturday, July 28th, at the Butler Lawn in downtown Princeton. Festivities will begin around noon while musical acts will start at 3PM. There will be inflatables for the kids, large yard games for the whole family, a flight simulator, the RA Racers and Pit-crew, concessions, and more. Torey then released the musical acts that will be performing this year: the afternoon will kick off with Nichole and David Adams and friends, followed by the Justin Reynolds Band, the JJ Weeks Band, and Carrollton, with the large headliner this year, Newsong, popular Contemporary Christian artists and the founders and original frontliners of Winter Jam. Bro. Harrell then mentioned that the guest speaker will be Jay Barbier, Evangelist with the Tennessee Baptist Convention.

Torey and Bro. Harrell then stated that will be reaching out to businesses for sponsorship in the coming weeks but expressed that if any business would like to sponsor this year to help keep Summer Slam free for the public call Torey at 270-963-0671. They also stated that not only will they need monetary sponsors, they’ll also need volunteers to help set up, work the event, and tear down, and anyone interested can contact Torey or HR Ministries at 270-365-6044.

Summer Slam 2018 with headliners Newsong will be Saturday, July 28th, with festivities from noon to around 9:30PM at the Butler Lawn in downtown Princeton and is free and open to the public. Events will be moved into the Butler Gym in case of bad weather.
