The Caldwell County Board of Education met in a special called session Monday night at the Butler Alumni Auditorium in downtown Princeton.

After calling the meeting to order the board unanimously approved the minutes from the special called meeting on August 22nd.

The board then unanimously approved the following agenda items: the approval of an overnight trip for twenty student FFA members and two adult chaperones to attend the National Competition and Workshops in Indianapolis from October 24th to October 27th and the approval of the use of the Butler Lawn and Butler Gymnasium Concessions area for a Cornhole Tournament by the Caldwell County High School Tennis Team on Saturday, October 21st.

The board then discussed the tax rates for the 2017-2018 year. A motion was made and seconded as follows: that the Tax Rates for 2017-2018 be set at 44.6 cents per one hundred dollar assessed value for real estate and personal property which is composed of the basic tax rate of 38.6 cents and the nickel equivalent rate of an additional 6 cents which had previously been approved in April of 2017 and the approved Motor Vehicle tax rate to be at 53.8 and the Utilities tax to remain at 3% and the continuation to participate in the SFCC and FSPK programs. The council unanimously approved the motion.

A motion was made to adjourn and after a second, the board unanimously adjourned the special called Caldwell County Board of Education meeting.
