Local community members will have a chance to donate new or gently books to area students on Thursday.

The General John Caldwell Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution is sponsoring a book drive to celebrate National Family Literacy Day.

Members of the community are being invited to donate new or gently used books and reading material suitable for students in preschool through high school. All books or reading materials should be appropriate for families to enjoy together.

The Caldwell County HOPE and COPE Centers will distribute the donated books to students throughout the district.

Donations will be accepted from 10AM to 2PM on Thursday at the Glenn Martin Genealogy Library on the corner of West Main and Harrison Streets in downtown Princeton.
