Diane Cooper, Co-Director of the Caldwell County Free Clinic, was in studio Monday morning to talk to WPKY about the upcoming Cookie Walk fundraiser for the Free Clinic.

The Cookie Walk will be on Friday, December 1st, from 4 to 7PM and on Saturday, December 2nd, from 9 to 10:30AM, at the First Baptist Church’s Christian Life Center in downtown Princeton. Participants will be able to walk around to several tables with a box to fill up with cookies and will pay for them based on weight. Anyone who is bringing cookies needs to drop them off at 3PM, December 1st, and will need to pick up their dishes on Saturday morning. Diane said that 27 organizations will be bringing cookies, but that they still have room for more organizations or individuals to bring more cookies. She said that 20 dozen cookies are needed to fill a table but that organizations or individuals can group together to produce the cookies. For more information or to sign up to bring cookies you can call Diane at 270-625-1247.

Diane told listeners that all the money raised from the Cookie Walk will support all the services that the Free Clinic offers, including medications, x-rays, and blood work. Diane then said that even if you don’t think you’d qualify for help at the clinic, to come by anyway to get a free screening. If they can help you they will, even if that means sending you in another direction. Diane then reminded listeners that the Free Clinic will be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving, as well as November 30th, as the Free Clinic isn’t open on the fifth Thursday of the month. The Free Clinic’s doors open at 5PM and stay open until the last patient is seen. Patients need to enter the Free Clinic through the back entrance of the Central Presbyterian Church and then go to the basement. For more information you can call the Free Clinic at 270-365-0901. Diane also mentioned that the clinic is always looking for volunteers, whether medical or desk workers, and anyone interested can call her or the clinic.

The Cookie Walk will be Friday, December 1st and Saturday, December 2nd at the First Baptist Church’s Christian Life Center in downtown Princeton.
