Early morning fire causes minor structural damage to a home in Caldwell County
An early morning fire caused minor structural damage to a home in Caldwell County.
Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis told WPKY that a call was received about a fire at 4311 Grooms Lane around three Wednesday morning. The owner of the house, Krysty Mitchell, had used a fire extinguisher to attempt to put the blaze out before firefighters arrived.
While at the scene it was found that the fire had spread under the house through a foundation vent. Firefighters were able to contain and put out the fire before it spread to the interior of the house. The house sustained minor damage along one exterior wall including a drain pipe and window siding.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
