George Kilgore was in studio Monday morning to talk to WPKY about the recent First Baptist Church Senior Adult trip to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

George told listeners that fifty-one senior adults from several churches in the community went to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg at the end of May for a week of fun, fellowship, and food. Activities included dinner shows, a trip to Dollywood, comedy shows, variety shows, shopping, and more. George stated that their trip to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is the longest trip they go on each year and is open to anyone in the community age 55 and older, whether you’re a member of First Baptist Church or not.

George also stated that the group tries to have events or short day trips at least once a month, that are open to all senior citizens in the community. On Tuesday, July 3rd they will go to the Fredonia fireworks display and on Thursday, July 5th they’ll take a group to see The Hoppers in Paducah. For the trip to Paducah they will leave First Baptist Church at 3:45PM, stop somewhere to eat, and then attend the concert. A love offering will be taken at the concert, but because a large attendance is expected tickets are required. George secured 48 tickets and those interested must be signed up by June 26th to have your ticket reserved. Anyone interested in attending can call George at 270-625-3427 or First Baptist Church at 270-365-5591. You can also follow their events and trips on Facebook at First Baptist Church of Princeton, KY.
