George Kilgore was in studio Wednesday morning to talk to WPKY about the Princeton First Baptist Church’s Senior Adult Ministry.

George told listeners that the Senior Adult Ministry at First Baptist isn’t just for members but is open to all seniors in the community. The group tries to have an outing every month, whether that’s to go out to eat or to participate in some other small event, and has several overnight trips and one week long trip a year. Trips have included attending the Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge, trips to the Smokey Mountains, a Christmas trip to Opry Land Hotel or the Gault House in Louisville, a trip to the Creation Museum and the Ark, and more. Their week long trips have included trips to Florida and a trip touring Kentucky. George then told listeners that the trip’s prices are based on a lump sum that includes transportation, hotel, and any activity that they’ll be doing, all meals and any other expenses are up to the traveler and are not included in the lump sum. For more information about the senior adult ministry you can check out First Baptist Church – Princeton, KY on Facebook, all of their events are posted there. You can also call the church at 270-365-5591 or George at 270-625-3427 for more information.

George then took a moment to talk about the Princeton Optimist Club, of which he’s been a member for many many years. He mentioned a few of the things the Optimist Club does throughout the year, including Black Patch in September, the Pennyroyal Industries Christmas Luncheon, and the Radio Auction. George announced that there would be some changes this year with the Radio Auction, the Princeton Kiwanis Club will be helping the Optimist Club collect items that will be auctioned off and will help man stations during the auction itself. The Optimist Club will then give a portion of the proceeds to the Kiwanis Club. The Princeton Optimist Club Radio Auction is tentatively scheduled for March 19th through the 23rd.
