Jeff Smith and George Barber were in studio Monday morning to talk to WPKY about the upcoming Bluegrass on Beshear Music Fest on Sunday, October 8th.

The music festival, which is in it’s fourth year, will feature bluegrass, country, rock, gospel and more with artists Justamere Bluegrass Band, Bluegrass Revival, The MCR Pickers, Waterfront, Classy & Grassy featuring Cutter & Cash Singleton, the Bright Life Farms Choir, and much more. The event is family friendly and will also offer other fun activities like kayak and canoe rentals, fishing, and more. There will also be BBQ, hamburgers and hotdogs, and drinks available, as well as a bake sale. Attendees are also allowed to bring their own coolers with food and drink. They will be raffling off a 2 night stay for up to 4 people in a 2 room luxury condo at Green Turtle Bay, as well as a few smaller raffle prizes.

Grounds open at 12:30PM with music starting at 1:30 and going till 6PM and will be rain or shine and is located at 307 Island Cove Lane in Dawson Springs, which is on the west fork of Lake Beshear off of 672, about 4 miles southwest of Dawson Springs. Admission to the festival is free, however they will be taking donations to benefit three area pro-life crisis pregnancy centers, the Door of Hope Pregnancy Care Center in Madisonville, the H.O.P.E. Clinics of Benton and Eddyville, and Alpha Alternative Pregnancy Care Center in Hopkinsville. All other funds raised from food and drink sales and kayak and canoe rentals will also go to the pregnancy centers.
