The Lake Barkley Partnership, a tri-county partnership between Caldwell, Lyon, and Crittenden Counties, is working to bring more economic development to the area following the hiring of a new executive director.

Recently named Economic Development Executive Director Amanda Davenport has hit the ground running and says the partnership took the summer to hold SWOT meetings in each of the three counties served. The SWOT meetings helped the partnership learn the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of each community to better identify goals and develop a strategic plan.

Amanda says the main niche areas within the partnership include manufacturing, tourism, and agriculture, among several others. Her plan is to take advantage of all the agricultural opportunities in the area.

One of the first steps the partnership is planning is to begin working with existing businesses.

They are also planning on working with the school systems to show students the various career paths that are available within the area, whether those career paths start right out of high school or require higher education.
