Three local city employees were recently recognized for achievements in training regarding their positions.

Princeton City Council members Pat George and Sheila Gates and Princeton Code Enforcement Officer Dickie Thomas were recognized for Achievement in City Governance by the Kentucky League of Cities last week in Louisville.

Councilmember George received a Level II – Excellence in City Governance, while both Councilmember Gates and Officer Thomas received a Level I – Achievement in City Governance.

The City Officials Training Center is a voluntary education program administered by the Kentucky League of Cities. City officials can complete education levels by attending KLC events and by submitting outside training credit from other municipal training. There are four levels of achievement: Level I – Achievement in City Governance, Level II – Excellence in City Governance, Level III – Masters of City Governance, and the newest designation, ‘Certified Municipal Officer.’

The City Officials Training Center Awards Program also recognized 81 other city officials from across the state at the annual KLC conference and expo September 17th through 20th in Louisville. The conference drew in over 500 city officials and leaders from across the Commonwealth.
