Local health provider announces reduction in fees for certain services
A local health provider has announced reduced fees for their services following a commitment to break down barriers hindering people who are seeking care.
In a release Health First Community Health Center, which has seven locations across western Kentucky, announced new reduced fees for their Sliding Fee Scale Program. The new prices, which took effect at the beginning of November, are $10 for Class A, $15 for Class B, $20 for Class C, and $25 for Class D.
The new nominal fees now include the office visit, laboratory, and radiology services. Health First has worked with their laboratory and radiology partners to provide donated services to patients who qualify for the Sliding Fee Scale Program. The health center will now pay a monthly flat rate to ensure that patients can receive the laboratory and radiology services that they need.
The Sliding Fee Scale Program is a discount program for eligible patients which is based on income and household size. The purpose of the program is to ensure that all patients have access to affordable primary care services, regardless of their financial status. Income guidelines are based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines (FPL).
