Melissa Peek, Director of the Princeton Art Guild, was in studio Thursday morning to talk to WPKY about the upcoming Annual Artisan Festival and Fundraiser on Saturday at the Eddy Grove Vineyard.

Arts and crafts vendors will be set up from noon to 5PM, live music will be from noon to 5PM, then 6 to 8PM, kid friendly events like hayrides, a petting zoo, storytelling, and pumpkin painting will be from 1 to 3PM, and raffle tickets will be sold all throughout the day for several cool prizes, including art from local artists and gift certificates from local restaurants.

Music headliners include Mandy Vixen and Gas Station Chicken at noon, Jacob Johnson at 1PM, Leight July at 2PM, Steven Green at 3PM, Haleigh Martin at 4PM, and world famous Princeton native, Alonzo Pennington, finishing out the night starting at 6PM.

Melissa mentioned to listeners that raffle tickets are a dollar for 10 tickets and raffle prizes include works by Jan Farley, Perkins Lapidary Arts Jewelry, Bob Morgan, and more. Melissa also mentioned that she is looking for more raffle items, so if you have something you’d like to raffle off you can contact her at 270-625-2574. All the proceeds from the raffles sales will go to the Princeton Art Guild.

Melissa then told listeners of a new event there this year, a free community yoga class at 4PM. All you need to bring to participate is a yoga mat, comfy clothes, and a bottle of water. The class will last about 45 minutes.

Melissa also told listeners that because the event is outside, if inclement weather pops up, they will have to cancel, or at least move some things around. She suggested checking the Princeton Art Guild’s Facebook page on Saturday for any updates. She also suggested making reservations at Timberdoodle Restaurant if you planned on eating there during the festival. You can contact the restaurant at 270-365-9463.

Melissa then mentioned that she is still preparing the 200 Reasons Why Collaborative Art Exhibit, but to stay tuned for more information on when the exhibit will be ready. She urged citizens to come out and view the exhibit, once it’s displayed. She has received more than 200 pieces of work from living and passed local artists, including pieces from 1907 and 1870.

The Annual Artisan Festival and Fundraiser will be Saturday from noon to 8PM at Eddy Grove Vineyard, located at 300 Martin Road, about 4 miles south of Princeton off of Highway 293 South, so bring your blankets and chairs and head on out for some free live music, family activities, and art vendors.
