Michelle Travis, Drake Travis, Jacy Travis, and Jake Scheidler were in studio Wednesday morning to talk to WPKY about high school and Lil’ Britches rodeo.

Michelle told listeners that there are eleven kids from Caldwell County that participate in rodeo. All eleven participate in West Kentucky Lil’ Britches and Jacy and Jake participate on the state’s high school team as well. The high school team competes all over Kentucky while West Kentucky Lil’ Britches competes mostly in Murray.

West Kentucky Lil’ Britches has three divisions, Little Wrangler for up to age 9, Junior Wrangler for 10 to 14 year olds, and Senior Wrangler for ages 15 and up. The competitions have 10 to 15 events including barrels, poles, breakaway, ribbon roping, calf roping, team roping, and more. The next competition will be on January 6th and 7th at the Expo Center in Murray and is free and open to everyone.

Michelle then told listeners that if anyone is interested in joining the rodeo team you can contact Jessica Watson at Broken W Farm on Facebook or any of the parents of current rodeo team members.
