The Caldwell Medical Center Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of Dan Odegaard, FACHE, as chief executive officer of the 25-bed critical access hospital.

Odegaard will assume his position on April 2.

Odegaard has more than 20 years of experience in senior leadership roles at hospitals across the country and has led organizations through service line expansions, revenue cycle improvements, electronic health record adoption, clinical affiliations, cost reduction efforts and physician contracting
negotiations. He most recently served as chief executive officer of Perry Memorial Hospital in Perry, Oklahoma, where he managed the operations of a 26-bed hospital, primary care clinic, specialty clinic and home health agency.

“Dan is an accomplished healthcare leader with the experience and dedication necessary to build upon Caldwell Medical Center’s success,” said hospital board chairman Brent Bugg. “Dan’s deep understanding of community hospital dynamics, as well as the needs of patients and physicians, will help us continue to deliver the highest quality care to our patients.”

Odegaard received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota, and is currently pursuing his master’s in business administration for healthcare management at Western Governors University.

Odegaard replaces interim CEO Bill Hartley. “Bill has been an important source of support for our hospital – on more than one occasion – and we are grateful for his guidance and willingness to serve,” continued Bugg.
