Potential truck fire blocks traffic on I-24 in Caldwell County Wednesday night

A potential truck fire blocked one lane of eastbound traffic on 1-24 on the Caldwell/Lyon County line Wednesday night.
Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis says that firefighters responded to a report indicating a semi hauling pesticides had caught fire on the interstate near the 56 mile marker at the KY 139 Cadiz/Princeton exit just after seven.
When firefighters arrived they found that the truck driver was able to disconnect the trailer and move it a safe distance from the tractor. It was then revealed that a tire on the tractor had caught fire.
Chief Francis says that crews were able to extinguish the tire quickly.
One eastbound lane was closed while crews worked to clear the site and was reopened to traffic within an hour.
Princeton Fire and Rescue was assisted at the scene by Caldwell County Sheriffs Office.
