Reverend Shannon Blosser from Ogden Memorial United Methodist Church was in studio Thursday morning to talk to WPKY about MarketPlace and Ogden’s trip to the Holy Land in 2019.

Rev. Shannon first told listeners a bit about MarketPlace, which is celebrating it 27th year, stating that it’s a hands on VBS for children in Kindergarten through middle school to interact with Bible stories and scripture in a way that will internalize it for years to come. MarketPlace will be held Tuesday, May 29th through Thursday, May 31st at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Rev. Shannon did state that registration has ended but wanted to remind listeners to mark their calendars for next year, the event is usually always around the Memorial Day holiday.

Rev. Shannon then told listeners about a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the Holy Land in February 2019. Ogden is planning a trip, through a travel agency, to visit the Holy Land from February 4th through the 13th. The whole trip is pre-planned and the cost will cover airfare, hotels, bus rides, and guided tours, which are paid for in four installments with the last payment in November. Travelers will have to bring extra money with them to cover meals and anything they may wish to buy while on the trip. Currently 15 people are registered to attend but Rev. Shannon stated that more openings are available but that registration ends June 15th. Those interested can pick up applications and travel brochures at Ogden in the church office or can call them at 270-365-3528 for more information.
