Roy Gene Rogers was in studio Tuesday morning to talk to WPKY about the upcoming political forum and Black Patch Heritage Festival.

Roy Gene first told listeners about the upcoming political forum, “Your Voice Your Vote,” on Tuesday, August 7th at 6:45PM in the circuit courtroom in the Caldwell County Courthouse. The forum will be just for Kentucky’s 4th District Senator and Representative candidates, which include Dorsey Ridley and Robbie Mills, who are running for the State Senate, and Lynn Bechler and Abigale Barns, who are running for State Representative.

The forum will have the same format as the recent Caldwell County Judge Executive forum; but, all candidates will have biography sheets that will explain a bit more about themselves and what they stand for that will be available for members of the public to pick up during the forum. Each candidate will also submit a written response on their feelings concerning the recent Pension Bill and court ruling. During the forum, candidates will have three minutes for an opening, three minutes to answer each question, and three minutes for closing remarks. Roy Gene stated that there will be two main questions, the legalization of medical marijuana and the 641 bi-pass, that will be asked. Roy Gene also stated that if anyone has any questions they’d like to ask the candidates to contact him or Brock Thomas on social media.

Roy Gene then shifted gears and spoke a bit about this year’s Black Patch Heritage Festival on Saturday, September 8th in downtown Princeton. He stated that the Optimist Club has sent out 110 to 115 applications to people who have had booths in the past and reminded those who have received applications to hurry up and return them. He also said that anyone interested in putting up a booth can find applications at City Hall. Roy Gene then told listeners that several of the more popular games will be returning, as well as a few new rides, and Dunc’s Wheels and Tires will be back with their car smashing booth, with Art on Main, the Caldwell County and Princeton, and yard sale booths also returning this year.

Your Voice Your Vote” Political Forum will be held on Tuesday, August 7th at 6:45PM in the circuit courtroom in the Caldwell County Courthouse and is open to all in the public.
