A portion of a state highway in downtown Princeton was closed overnight Thursday into Friday morning following a tractor-trailer wreck.
Caldwell County Emergency Management Coordinator Joey McCaslin says that crews received a call of a tractor-trailer lodged under the railroad overpass at the 200 block of South Jefferson Street/KY 293 South just before 9:30. He adds that when crews arrived the truck was partially through the underpass and had pealed back the top part of the trailer.

McCaslin notes that when wrecker services attempted to pull the trailer out it bowed in the middle and began to fall apart. Crews then had to offload the 25,000 pounds of fingernail polish before removing the tractor-trailer from the underpass.

McCaslin states that the road, which is not an official truck route, was closed until just after four Friday morning. No injuries were reported in the incident.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
