Portion of Cedar Hill Cemetery Designated Pioneer Cemetery

A local cemetery has reached a prestigious historical designation thanks to the efforts of members of the Caldwell County Historical Society.
Carolyn Traum, member of the Historical Society and project organizer, says the recent designation of Cedar Hill Cemetery couldn’t have happened without help from the City of Princeton.

She explains that a Pioneer Cemetery designation let’s people know of the deep history within the community.

Traum emphasizes that while Cedar Hill is a city owned cemetery, the City is not responsible for the upkeep of stones and grave markers.

She notes that Cedar Hill also has several unique markers that are rarely found in other cemeteries.

Traum expresses that the Pioneer Cemetery designation is a great addition to a community already steeped in history and explains that it will potentially be a tourist attraction for those interested in heritage and genealogy.
