October Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and many local health officials are reminding women of the importance of making time for preventative measures in order to stay healthy.
Dawnia Green, Marketing Manager at Community Medical Clinic, says that it’s extremely important to contact your primary care provider and talk to them about breast cancer preventative measures.

She adds that according to the American Cancer Society women ages 40-44 should begin to have a yearly mammogram.

Green notes that while women may not be able to change their family history and the risk factors that come with it, there are several life style things they can control.

She expresses that October is the perfect month to schedule a wellness check up and speak with your medical provider about mammograms and other breast cancer preventative measures. For those who may not have a primary care provider you can contact Community Medical Clinic at 270-365-0227 or visit their location at 310 North Hawthorne Street.
