Princeton Man Facing DUI Charge After Leaving Accident Sunday


A Princeton man is facing various charges, including DUI, following an incident Sunday afternoon.
According to a Princeton Police report offers responded to a complaint in the 400 block of Cherry Street concerning an intoxicated subject just after one. The report indicates that when officers arrived at the scene they made contact with the suspected subject, 39-year-old John C. Mahaffey, and determined that he was allegedly under the influence of intoxicants.
Investigation then revealed that Mahaffey was also reportedly involved in a collision that occurred on Maple Avenue.
Mahaffey was taken into custody and was charged with his first DUI offense and leaving the scene of an accident. He was also served a Lyon County bench warrant for a probation violation.
Mahaffey was then lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
