Caldwell County Dispatchers Recognized During Telecommunicators Week 2020

This week, April 12th through 18th, is National Telecommunicators Week, a week set aside to recognize the over 200,000 individuals throughout the country who play a critical role in the delivery of public safety services.
Caldwell County 911 Dispatch Director Chris Noel says that the county’s dispatchers, while never seen, are very important to the health and safety of the community.

He adds that those voices on the other end of the line often only interact with their community during its darkest days.

Noel states that Caldwell’s dispatchers answer calls for all emergency services in the county including law enforcement, fire, EMS, and utilities companies, and over the past year have averaged around 1,800 calls a month.
Caldwell County 911 Dispatch currently employs nine dispatchers, DeWayne Trafford, Shirley Gray, Stacey Overbey, Jeff Diggs, Stevie Newby, Lisa Farias, Ashley Rahn, Chrissy Nichols, and Ty Englebright.
Noel also wishes to extend thanks to those within the county that support the dispatch center every year.

Everyone here at WPKY would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone at Caldwell County Dispatch and we encourage those in the community to join us this week, and all year long, in thanking those unsung heroes who are on the other end of the line, day in and day out, working to keep our entire community safe.
