Caldwell County Grand Jury returned an indictment Monday on various charges in connection to a two-vehicle accident in April. The grand jury returned an indictment on 53-year-old Richard B. Ray, of Princeton, charging him with first degree possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, DUI first offense, no insurance first offense, possession of marijuana, and failure to notify address change. The charges stem from an incident April 22 in which the Princeton Police Department reported officers responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of US Highway 62 West and Parkway Drive.
Preliminary investigation revealed that 19-year-old Camilo Mendez, of Eddyville, was traveling east on US 62 and was stopped at the intersection of Parkway Drive when Ray struck the rear of Mendez’s vehicle causing severe damage. After further investigation Ray was determined to allegedly be under the influence of intoxicants and a search of his vehicle revealed suspected marijuana and methamphetamine.
Ray is currently lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
