Waste Corporation of America (WCA) is notifying customers of an upcoming transition in which WastePath Services will be taking over garbage pickup from residents who live within the city limits of Princeton.
WCA Princeton Account Manager Jeff Simms says the last day of Monday service for Princeton City residents only will be December 28 and the last day of Thursday pickup will be December 31. He asks that all blue WCA, light blue FWS or black Madisonville disposal totes be moved to the curb on the respective days for pickup and removal.
According to Simms, current billing lists will be used to validate toters are removed. He adds failure to move all toters to the curb on the days just mentioned could result in replacement cost changes to the city and eventually could be passed to the residents responsible.
Simms also says it has been his pleasure to serve the residents since he joined WCA. Simms adds he hopes the new service exceeds city residents’ expectations and is proactive in the needs of the citizens of Princeton.
Meanwhile, Princeton Mayor Kota Young is notifying residents the City’s new franchise with WastePath will begin January 1st. He says if you currently have one can, or tote, and would like to keep multiple cans under the new franchise, you need to call City Hall at (270) 365-9575. If you have one can currently, but would like additional cans under WastePath, he asks that you please wait until after January 1st and call WastePath directly at (270) 366-7656, option 4.
As a new member under the new franchise, Mayor Young reminds City residents the cost will drop considerably. Currently, he says the charge for one can is $13.25 a month. Beginning January 1st, he says the cost for one can will fall to $8.24 a month, with a $5 charge for each additional can, meaning that two cans after January will essentially cost the price of one today.
According to Mayor Young, all city residents will be receiving brand-new cans from WastePath. He says the information about delivery dates for the new cans will be released sometime over the next few days.
Mayor Young says they are excited to be working with WastePath to bring this new, more cost-effective service to the citizens of Princeton.
If anyone has any additional questions, call City Hall at (270) 365-9575.
