Caldwell Sheriff Grateful for Community Support at Toy, Coat Drive

Caldwell County Sheriff Stan Hudson says he was very happy to see the way the community stepped up for the 16th Annual Cash Express Toy & Coat Drive despite the tough COVID-19 pandemic.
This was the first year the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department participated in the Cash Express Toy & Coat Drive which was held on December 4th. Deputies joined forces with the Princeton Fire and Police Departments and Caldwell County EMS. The agencies parked their vehicles in the parking lot of Cash Express on U.S. 62 West so members of the community could drop off items and fill their vehicles with toys and food. Sheriff Hudson says First Health of Princeton gave out goody bags to citizens who stopped by to drop off donations.
According to Cash Express Manager Sue Ann Loney, with the generous contributions from the community, the Toy Drive this year will be distributing the food received to Christ Tabernacle Church for their food bank and Dunc’s Tires received some toys to help with a drive they conducted. Sheriff Hudson says toys were donated to the David Scott Toy Drive. He adds Chief Deputy Chris Noel and Deputy Brook Dixon went shopping with Cash Express to purchase toys with the funds collected from the Toy Drive. In addition, he says the Cope & Hope Center was contacted and six children were adopted.
In addition to Sheriff Hudson expressing his gratitude to the community for their generosity, he says the Sheriff’s Department was very excited to participate in such a wonderful cause.
