No one was transported to the hospital when a pickup truck ran off the road and overturned several times due to icy conditions on U.S. 62 West in Caldwell County Thursday afternoon.
Caldwell County Chief Deputy Sheriff Chris Noel reports Sheriff Stan Hudson responded to the single-vehicle wreck on U.S. 62 West at the intersection with Scott Cemetery Road just before 1:30 p.m.
Sheriff Hudson’s investigation determined 25-year old Jennis Shelton, of Eddyville, was east on U.S. 62 West when he lost control due to icy conditions on the road. The vehicle reportedly slid off the left side of the road, overturned several times, and hit a tree.
Deputy Noel says Shelton was checked by EMS and refused any further treatment.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by Caldwell Fire/Rescue and Caldwell EMS.
