The Caldwell County Board of Education approved to combine the transportation director and assistant facilities director positions during Monday night’s meeting.
Interim Superintendent Heath Cartwright told board members the salary for the position would be set at the same rate as the facilities director.
The position was approved by a 4-1 vote, with board chair Tim Kennaday casting the nay vote.
The board also approved a memorandum of understanding with the Kentucky Department of Transportation to continue offering safe driver classes. Cartwright said the class is taught at Caldwell County High School.
In other action, the board approved a memorandum of agreement with Western Kentucky University. Cartwright said the agreement would allow student teachers to come to the district from the college located in Bowling Green.
