Princeton Man Charged With Theft Of Mulch

A Princeton man was charged with theft after a shoplifting complaint at a local business over the weekend.
Princeton Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison reports officers responded to Tractor Supply on U.S. 62 West shortly before 10:00 Sunday night after an employee saw a man place several bags of mulch in the back of his truck and then leave the property without paying for the bags. Police say the employee followed the suspect and officers were able to make a traffic stop at Casey’s.
According to police, investigation revealed 57-year old Sean McConnor had eight bags of mulch in the bed of his truck and did not have a receipt for the purchase.
McConnor was issued a citation for Theft by Unlawful Taking Shoplifting under $500.
