A Danville man was charged after he reportedly assaulted a deputy at a Kuttawa motel Tuesday morning.
Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputy Sam Adams says they were called after 46-year-old Johnny Baker tossed a microwave oven into the motel’s pool.
He had reportedly left the motel before deputies arrived but returned shortly after and appeared to be under the influence of some kind of substance.
Deputies say when Baker was asked for his driver’s license he became agitated and attempted to run away as he was being arrested.
Baker was reportedly tased several times and continued to resist arrest before he was arrested by several law enforcement officers along with good samaritan’s.
Adams reportedly suffered only minor injuries and damage to his uniform during the incident.
Baker was reportedly under the influence of meth and alcoholic beverages. A search of Baker’s rooms and vehicles at the motel allegedly led deputies to items consistent with the use of crystal meth.
He is charged with DUI, second-degree disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, third-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, and trafficking meth.
