Baptist Health and Deaconess Health officially became Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville Wednesday.
CEO of Baptist Health Gerard Coleman, Deaconess Health CEO Shawn McCoy, and president of Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville Shawn McCoy gathered at the Madisonville medical facility for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Hospital officials said they look forward to serving the community with expanded services, greater access to more physicians, renovated facilities, and the same smiling faces you know and trust.
Officials with Baptist Health and Deaconess announced in January their intentions to jointly operate the Madisonville hospital and medical group.
According to officials, the joint venture creates the region’s largest health systems that will pool resources and expertise to further strengthen medical services offered at the Madisonville hospital and foster growth with local decision-making and a local focus.
In addition to the merger, officials said as faith-based institutions, both organizations will continue to offer financial assistance programs and charity care.
Baptist Health Madisonville was formerly known as Trover Health System and joined Baptist Health in 2012.
