The Marion Police Department is looking for a woman who reportedly rammed an officer’s police truck that led to a pursuit Wednesday morning.
Chief Ray O’Neal reported on social media that he and Sergeant Heath Martin responded to a call shortly after 11:00 a.m. of a female trespassing in the Marion city limits. Upon arrival at the scene, he says Sabrina Jones-Adams was identified as the female trespassing and was observed by both officers getting into a black 1995 Toyota car.
Chief O’Neal said as he got out of his vehicle and tried to make contact with Adams, she put her car in reverse and backed out of the driveway, just narrowly missing him and hitting a trash can. She then narrowly missed Sergeant Martin who had positioned his patrol car in front of her vehicle. Adams then reportedly accelerated and again narrowly missed hitting Chief O’Neal and slammed her vehicle into his parked police truck, damaging both vehicles and pushing the chief’s truck about three feet. At this point, the chief said a pursuit began.
Chief O’Neal said the pursuit was terminated due to Adams’s recklessness on the roadway as she was driving at speeds of up to 100 mph, disregarding stop signs and wantonly endangering everyone she met and passed on the roadways.
According to police, Jones-Adams has many felony, misdemeanor and traffic violations pending.
If you know of her whereabouts, you are urged to call your local police or the Marion Police Department at (270) 965-3500. Chief O’Neal also advises anyone that may encounter Adams-Jones to not make contact with her as her actions on Wednesday displayed her lack of concern for other human lives.
