A Princeton woman was charged after an investigation into shoplifting at Burkes Outlet store in Princeton Tuesday night.
Assistant Princeton Police Chief Shane Allison says 39-year-old Brandi Hawkins took a shopping cart full of items from the store just before 9 pm.
She was located by police on Harvey Lane and reportedly found to have 39 various items totaling $485 in her vehicle along with open alcohol containers, and prescription pills that were not in proper containers.
Hawkins was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle with an expired license, possession of open alcohol beverage container in a motor vehicle, second-degree possession of a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance, prescription not in a proper container, and theft by unlawful taking shoplifting.
She was also arrested on warrants for two counts of failure to pay or appear in Caldwell County and failure to appear in Lyon County along with a criminal summons charging her with criminal possession of a forged instrument, illegal possession of a legend drug, and drug paraphernalia.
