City Working To Secure Third Burn Site For Storm Debris

Princeton Mayor Kota Young stands among the debris the morning after an EF-4 tornado ripped through neighborhoods in the Princeton Golf Club area.

Princeton Mayor Kota Young said they could be securing a third burn pit in another neighborhood hit by an EF-4 tornado Friday night.
In his 5:00 update with WPKY Wednesday evening, Mayor Young said the burn pit in the back of the Deerfield neighborhood was constructed Wednesday. He said contractors would be working through the night burning debris in order to give residents more time during the day Wednesday to get as much debris cleaned up and moved to burn piles before the rain moves into the area Thursday.
In addition, Young said they are awaiting approval for a third burn-site in another neighborhood to help with the cleanup process.

Young said the neighborhoods hit by the tornado are continuing to be well protected by the National Guard and law enforcement.

Mayor Young is scheduled to provide updates live each day on WPKY at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
