Princeton Resident Facing Several Charges In Marshall County

A Caldwell County resident was arrested in Marshall County on multiple charges including theft, fleeing from police and possession of meth.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Audie Settle, of Princeton, was taken into custody after an investigation into a suspicious vehicle turning into the parking lot of Faith Missionary Baptist Church at 641 North and Marco Street around 3:30 Monday morning. Deputies said the church is heavily damaged by the recent storms, making it protected property under the county’s executive order.
When deputies turned around to check the vehicle,  saw it driving away from the rear of the building without headlights on at which time deputies tried to make a traffic stop. However, deputies say the vehicle accelerated to speeds over 100 mph south on 641, through Benton, and to Court Square where the vehicle went airborne due to its excessive speeds. Deputies and the Benton Police Department lost sight of the vehicle but later found it abandoned with two destroyed rims and tires.
Deputies said Settle was taken into custody after an investigation and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, theft by unlawful taking – auto, second-degree criminal trespassing, shoplifting, possession of meth and drug paraphernalia, along with traffic-related and other offenses.
