The Dawson Springs Independent Schools Board of Education approved a recommendation for school to resume after the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
Superintendent Lenny Whalen made the recommendation for the district to resume school on Tuesday, January 18th due to the extensive damage in Dawson Springs.
In a social media post, Whalen also thanked everyone who has donated items to help the Dawson Springs community. He said they will begin scaling back after Christmas from an emergency response center to prep for school. He added they have an abundance of many items, especially clothes and water. Anyone needing those in particular, Whalen said should visit the high school and take what you need, but he asks that you use good judgment so others can also get what they need.
