FEMA Announces Holiday Hours And New Weekday Hours In Princeton

FEMA has announced its hours of operation for the Christmas holiday weekend as well as its extended hours of operation on weekdays at the Butler Gymnasium in Princeton. Communications Specialist Yvonne Smith made the announcement on WPKY this morning.

She says the federal assistance through FEMA is not just for residents in the City of Princeton, but it’s also for renters and those who live out in the county, including farmers who suffered storm damage.
Smith says when you come to FEMA there is information they will need from those registering for federal assistance.

If you are unable to locate your documentation due to the tornado, Smith says you still need to come into FEMA because they will help you get the information.
According to Public Affairs Specialist Laurie Dana with the Small Business Administration, when you register with FEMA they may tell you to fill out a Disaster Loan Application. She says that’s because when there is a disaster the SBA helps homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes and non-profits which is part of FEMA’s qualifying process by completing the Disaster Loan Application.

The SBA is also set up at the Butler gym.
Again, Smith says FEMA will be closed Saturday for Christmas and will be open noon to 6:00 on Sunday and Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Butler Gymnasium is located at 600 West Main Street.
