Princeton Mayor Kota Young says they still have many volunteers and donations to help storm victims.
He says the number to call for volunteers and donations is (270) 963-3561, but he noted due to the large call volume they have set up another phone number to call which is (270) 963-3598.
The mayor also encourages residents who suffered any tornado damage to register with FEMA even if you have homeowners insurance. He added you can go ahead and get into the system and even if you get a denial letter, there will be an opportunity to write an appeal letter. But he said there are federal funds available.
Mayor Young also said the landfill is now operational but stressed it is not for public use — only authorized individuals.
The mayor also said the cleanup is going well and every day a sense of normalcy increases a little bit more.
Mayor Young is providing updates at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on WPKY. Just a reminder, the 5:00 News Edge this evening will air at 4:00 this afternoon due to the pre-game show leading up to tonight’s basketball game on WPKY.
