Kota Young Files To Run For Caldwell Judge-Executive

Princeton Mayor Kota Young filed his paperwork at the Caldwell County Clerk’s Office Tuesday morning to run for the county’s judge-executive seat.
Young stated in a social media post that it has been an honor and privilege to serve as Princeton’s mayor, and he looks forward to finishing out the last year of his term with the best and most supportive Council he could have ever asked for. However, he added that chapter of his life is drawing to a close.
Young went on to say he looks forward to sharing his vision for Caldwell County with residents over the coming weeks and months.
For the time being, according to Young, his focus is solely on the recovery, and the wellbeing of our neighbors impacted by the storm. He added that never doubt – no matter the challenges the community faces, our capacity to overcome is greater.
Young filed on the Republican ticket which was signed and witnessed by William Baxter Boyd and his father, William D. Young.
To date, only one other candidate has filed to run for the Caldwell County judge-executive seat. Former magistrate Phillip Sisk filed his paperwork Monday on the Democratic ticket to run for the county seat.
The deadline for candidates to file is 4 p.m. Friday.
