A Providence woman was arrested for DUI and possession of meth after a traffic stop in Webster County over the weekend.
Providence Police Sergeant Carl Scheer and Officer Jay Riley Edwards stopped a reckless driver on Westerfield Drive around 5:20 Sunday evening. They say 39-year old Sherri Ann Ashlock was arrested for DUI after she exhibited signs of being impaired and failed a series of field sobriety tests. Officers said they also found a syringe loaded with methamphetamine during a search of the vehicle she was driving.
In addition, police said Ashlock was found to be wanted out of Union County for criminal mischief of a residential property and theft over $500.
Ashlock was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, operating on a suspended or revoked driver’s license, and no tail lights.
Ashlock was lodged in the Webster County Jail.
