Ice Storm Debris Clean Up Underway In Caldwell County

Officials say Caldwell County was one of the hardest-hit counties in the state by Winter Storm Landon that left behind major debris to be cleaned up in both the city and county.
Officials say it will take some time to clean up trees and major limbs, and residents are being asked to show extra patience as it will likely take weeks to complete the task, especially coming off of the damage caused by the December tornadoes.
Residents are asked to pile debris near the road, avoiding ditch lines and sidewalks. Burn pits are available at 13106 Dawson Road, and plans are being finalized for a burn pit at Industrial Park in Princeton.
Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis asks that residents take extreme caution in burning debris and to wait until six o’clock in the evening if you are within 150 feet of a wooded area. Small burn piles are encouraged.
Several volunteer groups are available to help with debris cleanup. More details on those efforts will be available soon at wpkyonline.com.
