An Eddyville woman was arrested and charged after police say her child was found alone walking in the roadway Friday morning.
Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reports he and Chief Deputy Sam Adams responded to the call in the area of Fairview Avenue and Main Street shortly before 11:45 a.m. He says when they arrived three good Samaritans had stopped to get the 4-year old child to safety and waited for law enforcement to arrive. Sheriff White says the child was found walking in the roadway in only his sock feet and his family had just moved to the area.
According to Sheriff White, the child was transported to the Department for Community Based Services. He says the mother was contacted and arrived later at the DCBS office.
After an interview, 32-year old Patricia Johnson was taken into custody and charged with second-degree wanton endangerment. She was lodged in the Crittenden County Jail.
