Flooding Causes Road Closures In Caldwell And Around The Area

The WPKY News Edge has received several road closures and high water reports across Caldwell County and from around the area, Thursday afternoon as a storm system with heavy rainfall moved across western Kentucky.
Caldwell County District 4 Magistrate Jeff Simms tells us motorists need to use caution on Highway 139 South at Kevil’s curve just outside the city of Princeton due to debris blocking the roadway that was recently milled in the area. He says this is causing water to pool in the roadway. State road crews placed high-water signs urging motorists to reduce their speed in this area. Simms says state crews will work on the areas ditching when weather permits.
We also received word that water was over the road on KY 139 about 1/2 mile before the 10-mile marker in Caldwell County.
KY 139 North/Farmersville Road in Caldwell County just past the pumpkin patch was flooding, also. This is about 100 yards past Carner Hill Road traveling toward Farmersville.
In Lyon County, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports KY 1943/Skinframe Creek Road is closed at mile point 3.4 at the Skinframe Creek Bridge with signs and barricades posted.
In Crittenden County, KYTC is reporting KY855 is closed at the 5-mile marker at Dean Spring Creek north of Frances between KY 70 and U.S. 60 with signs and barricades posted. KY 902 is also closed at the 5 mile marker at the Dry Creek Bridge between March Oliver Rd and the Crittenden-Caldwell County Line.
According to KYTC, several roads have water over roadway in Livingston County. Those roads are as follows:
KY 133/Lola Road has Water Over Road signs posted at the 6 to 7mm
KY 1433/Cedar Grove Rd has Water Over Road signs posted at the 4 to 5mm between Lemon Landing and Head Road
