
The Pennyrile District Health Department has announced several deaths linked to COVID-19 in its five-county district, including two deaths that occurred last month in Caldwell County.
According to the health department’s report, the deaths of a 68-year old Caldwell County male on January 14 and a 79-year old male on January 21 were connected to COVID.
The deaths in Caldwell County were among twelve COVID-related fatalities reported Wednesday in the five counties served by the Pennyrile District Health Department.
The health department reported two deaths linked to the virus in Lyon County, one death in Crittenden County, three deaths in Livingston County, and four deaths in Trigg County.
The health department also announced 46 new coronavirus cases around its five-county district Wednesday. Of those, ten were reported in Caldwell County. All of the cases are isolated at home and include seven males and three females, ages 24 to 68.
Elsewhere, four new COVID cases were reported in Crittenden County, along with eleven cases in Livingston County, five in Lyon County, and sixteen in Trigg County.
Statewide, Governor Andy Beshear announced 5,116 newly reported cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday and 32 deaths with a positivity rate of 16.19%
