Princeton Man Charged With Assault After Fight

A Princeton man has been charged after police say he assaulted another man with a rock during a fight Thursday night.
Princeton Police Chief Chris King reports officers responded to a fight at Linton Way and Main Street shortly before 6:00. When officers arrived, witnesses reportedly told officers that 44-year old Andrew L. Tinsley had struck the victim in the head with a rock.
Tinsley was taken into custody and charged with second-degree assault, second-degree disorderly conduct, alcohol intoxication in a public place, and violation of conditions of release. Chief King says Tinsley was released on bond from Caldwell County Circuit Court on February 17 while awaiting trial on charges from September 2020 of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, first-degree trafficking in methamphetamine first offense greater than 2 grams – firearm enhanced, and first-degree persistent felony offender.
