Caldwell Grand Jury Returns Assault, Theft, And Drug Possession Indictments

The Caldwell County Grand Jury returned several indictments from the March 4 session including charges of assault, theft, and drug possession.
20-year old Timothy James Gifford, of Owensboro, was indicted on a second-degree assault charge. According to the indictment, on or about October 26, 2021, Gifford intentionally caused physical injury to another person by means of a dangerous instrument. No other details about the incident have been released.
Princeton Police officers served Gifford the Caldwell County Indictment Warrant at the Caldwell County Jail on Tuesday morning. He is being held in jail on a $2,000 Cash District Court bond.
Two true bills were returned for 45-year old Jason S. Hammons, of Princeton. One indictment charges him with first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, operating on a suspended/revoked operator’s license, DUI – 4th or subsequent offense.
These charges stem from a traffic stop in December of 2021 when Caldwell County Sheriff’s deputies observed Hammons crossing the center line on Highway 91.
The second indictment charges Hammons with fraudulent use of a credit card and theft by unlawful taking $10,000 or more. A no true bill was returned for 311 counts of fraudulent use. A no true bill means the charges were dismissed because the grand jury did not find enough evidence to charge Hammons with violating the law.
Princeton Police officers served Hammons the indictments at the Caldwell County Jail on Tuesday. He is being held on a $10,000 cash District Court bond on the theft and fraud charges, along with a $7,500 cash District Court bond from the DUI and drug possession charges.
The grand jury indicted 28-year old Austin J. Beshear, of Princeton, on charges of theft/receipt of a stolen credit/debit card and fraudulent use of a credit card over $1,000.
According to the indictment, on or about October 7 and October 8, 2021, Beshear allegedly took a credit/debit card from a person without their consent and then used the card to make purchases. No other details have been released.
Princeton Police officers served Board the indictment warrants at the Caldwell County Jail on Tuesday. He is being held on a $10,000 cash District Court bond.
51-year old Michael Shane Board was indicted on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. The charges stem from the night of January 10 when Caldwell County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a prowler complaint on Cromwell Cemetery Road and found Board in possession of meth.
