Watson said county clerks don’t know how to plan for the upcoming election until the General Assembly wraps up in Frankfort.

Magistrates also authorized the county government to serve as the pass-through for finances for the Long Term Recovery Group to help those affected by the tornado in December.
Judge-Executive Larry Curling explained the Long Term Recovery Group has been meeting twice a month and this action would allow the county government to appropriate the funding to survivors of the tornado.

District 2 Magistrate Jeff Boone added this is a way to facilitate the funding to be appropriated to the people who need it.
Judge Curling said this is a good group with a lot of people involved to help the people with needs in the community. He then gave an example as District 4 Magistrate Jeff Simms added the Long Term Recovery Group survey is the conduit of how the money will be appropriated.
