Smithland Man Wanted On Meth-Related Charges Arrested In Lyon County

Authorities say a theft and trespassing complaint in Lyon County last week led to the arrest of a Smithland man wanted by state police for meth-related offenses.
Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reports that Deputy Keith Suits and Chief Deputy Sam Adams responded to the complaint in the 1000 block of Joe Peek Road around 4:45 Wednesday afternoon. While on the scene, he says deputies located 56-year old Nick Hatfield who was wanted by Kentucky State Police for methamphetamine-related offenses in Livingston County.
Hatfield was taken into custody and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance – 2nd offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to Sheriff White, a theft case has been opened in response to the property owner reporting numerous items stolen from the property, including ATVs, hand tools, power tools, and miscellaneous other items. The investigation continues by Deputy Suits.
